As the coronavirus pandemic stretches into its ninth and tenth month we are once again choosing to pivot our business model for November and December. Logistically, it does not make sense for us to continue planning to serve our customers outside at The Dock. And even though we are technically allowed to have a limited capacity of customers inside for dining, we do not feel comfortable doing so at this point. The data is trending poorly in Massachusetts right now and we are going to do our part to keep our staff and customers safe during this time.

The plan is to open the taproom for growler fills, can sales and online pick ups on Thursday and Friday 4-8pm and Saturday 12-4pm. We have plenty of beer for sale in cans and we also have a nice variety for growler fills. Most growler sales will be in person only but as certain styles get low we will pre fill and add them for sale through the website. We will also be setting up some food trucks and/or food vendors to sell some take-away options. Please follow our social media for when and who might be present during these months. Curbside pick up is available during these times as well. Just call the brewery when you get there.

Here are some dates to put in your calendar.

Thursday, November 5 – Beer Release: Altbier – growler fills only
An altbier is a dark German ale fermented with a Kölsch yeast. It is the traditional beer from Düsseldorf, Germany. Expect little to no bitterness with flavors of fruit.

Thursday, November 19 – Triple Can Release – Autumn Sour, Ryal Side Pale Ale and English Bitter
Autumn Sour is our next seasonal kettle sour brewed with orange peel and sage with cranberry puree added. The Ryal Side Pale Ale is an American pale ale hopped and dry-hopped with whole-leaf Cascade hops grown in Ryal Side by Danielle Barry and harvested by Mike Barry. And English Bitter is our take on an English pub classic.

Wednesday, November 25 – Thanksgiving Eve Special Hours on The Dock
Releasing English Bitter on draft, with a special keg of Black is Beautiful imperial stout that we saved for this occasion. The plan is to take reservations between 12-4pm with the option to open up more reservations until 6pm. Po’Boys & Pies will be our food vendor because Todd is super flexible and creative. Make your reservation now, here!

Thursday, December 10 – Bottle Release – Christmas Ale 2020
Our third annual brew of this English strong ale. Dark, chocolatey and brewed with sweet orange peel and subtle spices. The perfect pairing with feasting and merriment!

Saturday, December 12 – Ugly Sweater Party and Food Drive
Using the same plan as Thanksgiving Eve, we will be taking reservations between 12-4pm with the option of extending our time open until 6pm. Food vendor TBD, but probably Po’Boys. Wear your ugliest, warmest sweater and remember to bring plenty of non-perishable food for our food drive to benefit Beverly Bootstraps. Make your reservations here!

Although this pandemic feels like forever, we know that it is temporary. Painful, annoying and full of anxiety, but temporary. The taproom will soon be full of community, babies, dogs and all, gathering and sharing. Also please know that we will continue to evaluate the local health data and our need for togetherness. If we feel it can be done safely and executed properly, we will consider opening the taproom for indoor dining in 2021. Until then, continue buying beer from us and enjoying it in the safety and comfort of your home. Be well, be safe and happy holidays to you all! We miss you and what we have grown together. See you on the other side!
