Well, it has been a while since we have written a blog. Definitely not good for our SEO but also not good for communicating to y’all about what we are doing here at the taproom. Big thanks to those of you that wandered in anyways!

Okay, so lets move on to what the heck we are doing this holiday season. Well, for starters, it is a busy one. Get your calendar ready, because you will upset if you miss something!

Saturday, November 19 – The Baker Over Yonder – 1-4pm
We are very excited to welcome a new vendor into our mix. Sara Monte is the brains and brawn behind this operation based out of Gnu Kitchen in Salem. She specializes in making gluten-free/vegan options for her customers. She is an Army veteran and worked for nearly two decades for the USDA Food Safety Division, so, yeah, she knows her stuff.

She is popping up with us three times in the next few weeks and we hope you come see what she has to offer!

So what will she have?! Well, for starters, frybread (think fried dough, but better) topped with cinnamon sugar or honey – NOT GLUTEN FREE OR VEGAN. Plus assorted gluten-free/vegan baked goods like Maple Pumpkin and Jalapeño Cheddar Cornbread, and Chocolate Cupcakes and Chocolate Chip Cookies. Yes, please.

Wednesday, November 23 – Crispy Square Pizza – 5-9pm
Also, this is Thanksgiving Eve. A Wednesday. As we have been every year, we are open 4-10pm. Paul might open up earlier (like 2pm) if he has his act together. But on to the food! These fine folks are coming down to us from Lowell and we are super excited to have them feed us Detroit-style pizza before we stuff ourselves on turkey dinner. You have to keep your stomach ready in preparation of the big day. We plan to have Divergent Recipe #22 out that night as well, so make plans with us!

CLOSED THANKSGIVING DAY (November 24)

Friday, November 25 – Open 12-10pm
We should have some new beer on tap by then, like the aforementioned Divergent Recipe #22 with Simcoe, Mosaic and Amarillo.

Saturday, November 26 – The Baker Over Yonder – 1-4pm & Shop Small Saturday
Sara is bringing all of what she brought on 11/19 plus a Harvest Stew made with Squash, Sausage and Kale to feed your shopping habit. That’s because Shop Small Saturday is this day as well. We hope to have some new merch and apparel in by then and we are going to offer 20% off.

Sunday, November 27 – Read ABV Book Club – 12pm
This month’s book is Hester by Laurie Lico Albanese. Come discuss! And if you haven’t read it and want to see what this group is all about, show up anyway. They would love to have you!

Tuesday, December 6 – Dana Cameron Book Release – 6pm
Dana Cameron is a personal friend of ours and also happens to be an amazing author. She is releasing her next book with Copper Dog Books and we are hosting the book release at the taproom. Please RSVP to Copper Dog if you plan to attend.

Thursday, December 8 – Christmas Ale Bottle Release – 4pm
We tried something a bit different this year with the Christmas Ale. We made a Belgian Quad and aged it in a cider barrel. We think it is tasting pretty good but we hope you like it. It is strong, like north of 10%, so it is definitely a sipper.

Friday, December 9 – The Baker Over Yonder – 5-9pm & Ugly Sweater Party
The Baker Over Yonder (Sara) is going to bust out a sacred family dish for us called “Indian Tacos.” She learned the recipe from her mother-in-law who is a member of the Southern Ute tribe of Colorado. The base is the aforementioned frybread topped with beans, meat if you like, and various sauces and salsas. It is eaten open-faced, preferably with a fork and knife, but who am I to tell you what to do.

And because this is also the Ugly Sweater Party, join us with your most outrageous holiday-themed sweater (top/outfit) and also please bring some non-perishable food items and/or toiletries/diapers to be donated to Beverly Bootstraps. This has become a great tradition for us and we thank you all for participating year to year.

Saturday, December 10 – Miz Diamond Wigfall – 7:30-9:30pm
Brewery Babe makes another appearance at the brewery with her holiday edition drag show! There will most like be some Mariah Carey and some Santa Baby. It is sure to be a hoot!

Thursday, December 15 – Saturday, December 17 – Casks On Park
Our quarterly cask ale celebration with Backbeat Brewing returns for the holiday edition! Those that know come in on Thursday for fresh casks, again on Friday for the day-old mellow and enjoy what is left of Saturday. We will have a pin of our collaboration Golden Ale “Building Bridges” that we did with Essex County Brewing Company, a firkin of our English Bitter and one other cask (maybe we will go pick up another firkin of Beverly Proper, the dark mild collab with Backbeat and Wandering Soul).

Sunday, December 18 – Mug Club Party – 12-3pm
We will be closed to the public until 3pm that day to celebrate our Mug Club Members.

Friday, December 23 – Wrapping Party – 7-10pm
This is for all you last minute shoppers and wrappers out there. We have a mix of wrapping paper at the brewery and also large flat tables, so bring your gifts down, listen to some Snoop Dog and have a couple of beers. Dancing may ensue.

Saturday, December 24 – Christmas Eve – Open 12-4pm
Get in while the gettin is good!

Sunday, December 25 – CLOSED CHRISTMAS DAY
Presents, food, family and friends. And beer. Obviously.

Saturday, December 31 – New Year’s Eve – Open 12-8pm
Come in and celebrate with us before settling in to whatever party you have planned that night. For some, it might some fancy, schmancy ball, for others (us) its sweatpants and a movie.

Sunday, January 1 – CLOSED NEW YEAR’S DAY
Happy New Year!
