Summer is fun at the taproom! The beer is cold, the AC is on, and the sidewalk patio is set up. We are always kid and dog friendly so feel free to pack up the family and head on down! Keep in mind that we are also operating the Beer Garden at Hale Farm all summer long, every Saturday from 2-6pm. So what’s up for July at the taproom? Here is a list of beer releases and events we have planned.
Wednesday, July 3 – The Cow Mobile Ice Cream Parlor – 6-8pm
We are OPEN 4-10pm and are also choosing to pull the Blonde Ale from our year-round selections to release Alan’s Rye Pale Ale for the long weekend. This beer is perfectly balanced for summer barbecues. It has a nice spiciness from the rye malt and is balanced with lemony Centennial hops. Come in a have a couple of pints and then fill some growlers or grab some cans for Independence Day. The Cow will also pull up around 6pm to serve ice cream from their mobile parlor. What a way to kick off the July 4th weekend!
Thursday, July 4 – CLOSED – Because America
Friday, July 5 – Open normal hours – 4-10pm
Thursday, July 18 – Balch Tavern Night – 5-9pm
Join us at the Balch House when it is transformed into a colonial tavern for the night. $10 cover to benefit Historic Beverly and beer will be for sale. Learn some history, drink some beer, eat some snacks and be one of the first to experience the Balch House in this way.
Friday, July 19 – Empanada Dada – 5-9pm
Rob has become a regular food vendor for us but took a month off because he was super busy with catering, so we are so happy to have him back at the taproom! His empanadas are some of the best around so if you haven’t had the chance to try them yet, put this on your calendar.
Saturday, July 20 – Beer Release: NEIPK
We made a version of this beer about a year ago with North Shore home brewer Tom Secondo and his club winning recipe. Last year’s version was a huge hit so we decided to ask Tom if he wanted to make it again with us, but this time not at 9% ABV. So, we scaled it down a touch and it will finish closer to 6% ABV. But it is still outrageously hopped with Galaxy and Citra so be prepared for a peach and citrus bomb.
Sunday, July 21 – Angry Donut – 12:30-3:30pm
DONUTS!!! And BEER!
Thursday, July 25 – Bottle Release: Summer Sour 2019 – 4pm
Our first ever kettle sour is currently fermenting as of the publication of this blog. We soured the mostly pilsner base malt wort with a brewery-made bacteria cultured from grain dust. During the boil, we added some Belgian candi sugar and lemon peel and then re-fermented it with raspberry purée. The label artwork was painted by the ever-talented Morgan Dyer. The beer will be packaged in 500mL (16.9oz) European style bottles and will be for sale in the taproom for $8 per bottle plus deposit. Tastes will be available.
Saturday, July 27 – Bonetown Burgers at the Beer Garden – 2-6pm
This burger truck is always such a hit at the taproom so we asked if they would be willing to try serving burgers at the Beer Garden. Because they are awesome, they said yes! So, come join us at the Hale Farm for burgers and beer! And, if the weather doesn’t cooperate, they probably wouldn’t be opposed to pulling the truck up to 59 Park Street.
