Happy New Year! After a short post-holiday closure for floor repairs and a fresh coat of paint, we’re excited to welcome you back. While we’re still putting the finishing touches on the space, Gentile Brewing officially reopened on Thursday, January 8, pouring the first beers of 2026. We can’t wait to see you.

Before we get to the events, a couple quick notes on winter hours. First, we will be closed most Sundays in January and February. The only exceptions are special events or private parties. Also, on Fridays and Saturdays we will be closing an hour early at 9pm. All of this resets in March as wrap up 10 years in business and begin our 11th year!

Here’s what’s happening around the taproom this January.

🎉 Reopening Day — Thursday, January 8

Many of you joined us as we reopened the doors for 2026! Along with your favorite beers, we released a test batch Amber Lager, brewed especially as our 10th Anniversary beer. It’s already on tap and tasting great, and we’d love your feedback.

Paul was behind the bar on reopening day, and you’ll see him bartending most Fridays throughout January and February—so be sure to stop in and share your thoughts.

We also have a new batch of Divergent / Hazy IPA in progress, expected to hit the taps later in the month once space opens up.

🧠 Trivia Nights with Joe Marino — Thursdays

We’re excited to kick off Trivia Night with Joe Marino, formerly of Old Planters. Trivia is moving to Gentile Brewing on Thursday nights from 7:30–9:30 PM to better accommodate our run club, RunABV.

We’re trying it out and hope to make this a regular weekly event, so come play, bring a team, and help us get it rolling.

🧘 Kitten Yoga — Saturday, January 10

Kitten Yoga returns at 11:00 AM, and it’s already sold out! If you stop by around noon, you might still spot a few kittens hanging around in the taproom.

🔒 Closed for Private Events — Saturday, January 17

We’ll be closed all day on Saturday, January 17 due to private events booked both during the day and evening. With only a small window to open, we’ve decided to close for the full day.

To make up for it…

🐐 Goat Yoga & Guest Bartending — Sunday, January 18

We’ll be open on Sunday, January 18, one of the few Sundays we’ll open this winter.

  • Goat Yoga at 11:00 AM (sold out)

  • Guest Bartender: Kathy Gilmour, Mug Club member and local comedian

  • Guest bartending hours: 1:00–3:00 PM

Kathy is participating in the BFit Challenge and raising money for the Professional Fire Fighters of Mass foundation. We’ll be donating $1 per beer sold (up to $200) during her shift, plus any cash tips she collects.

This event also kicks off a new guest bartender series, using our space to help community members raise money for causes and nonprofits they care about. Stay tuned for more soon (about one per month).

Winter Sunday Note: Outside of special events like this, we’ll be closed on Sundays during the winter months.

📚 Book Club & 🎤 Open Mic — Saturday, January 24

  • Read ABV Book Club: 12:00–2:00 PM

  • Open Mic Night: 6:00–10:00 PM

We’re trying something new with Open Mic Night, so spread the word! Sing, play, read, perform—or just come enjoy and support local talent.

⛳ Winter Golf League — Starts Saturday, January 31

We’re launching our first-ever Winter Golf League, and we’re excited (and a little curious) to see how it goes.

  • First tee time: ~5:00 PM

  • Last tee time: ~9:15–9:30 PM

  • Total spots: 24 (limited!)

  • Cost: $100 for all four nights

How it works:

  • Teams of two play four holes of a different course each night – “Best Ball” format

  • Multiple teams rotate through the same holes

  • League runs one Saturday night each month: January 31, February 28, March 21, and April 11

  • Mini-competitions each night (closest to the pin and Low Team)

  • Prizes awarded nightly and BIG end of season prizes

You can sign up solo or with a partner—teams will be matched if needed. Tee times will be assigned once registration is complete.

We’re really looking forward to being back open. The break was a little strange—but also kind of nice—and the taproom is looking great. Come check it out, try the new beers, and help us kick off 2026 the right way.

Hope to see you soon! 🍻
